hey all just wondering if any of you have any dealings (good or bad) with locktup4x4 they have pretty tempting prices on they're gear. they're lockers and reduction gears are $100-$200 cheaper than snake racing or bbm is there any reason for this?? any help would be great cheers

As far as 'their gear being any good' its the same gear you will buy through any other dealer selling lockrights and Trail gear gears and yes their service is pretty good as well they have helped out quite a few guys on here.

just to balance things up i've been waiting just under 2 weeks now for them to get me a price on some products. IMO, thats too long. Communication is all too easy between suppliers and retailers now, only ever an email or phone call away. I've received one follow up email in that period.

In saying that they were quick to respond to my initial inquiry and had to contact a manufacturer in the states. I'd definitely try to support local business before heading OS to buy off a US website. Its lucky I'm in no rush to get the product.

I always just ring them and find Chris or Tash to be very helpful. In the past few months i have brought a 6.5 reduction kit and dropped pitman arm for my zook and long field CVs and 4340 hub gears for my cruiser. They track your parts for you the whole time their in transit. The reason they are often cheaper is cause they also have a branch in California and don't mark up the prices as much as some of the east coast suppliers. My calmini pitman arm was $160, have a look on some other reputable suppliers and have a look they go for $330 plus freight.

I've bought a lot of stuff there and have had no drama's at all.

I deal with the US on a daily basis and find that its 10 times quicker and easier to deal with Locktup in WA. Locktup also make their money in the discount they receive so the product doesn't cost much more through them than direct from the US.

so is there a wharehouse you can go to discuss what you want face to face, or is it all by phone and email. I need a shiitload of gear and feel a little uneasy droppin 4-5g without knowing who is doing the order or if the item is what i need.

I have bought, and will continue to buy from them. I spent ages talking to Chris about various parts, and he was extremely helpful, especially when I wanted imported parts -

Ordered some Hilux gear (pun intended) through them before christmas. Could have bought the stuff through about 10 different suppliers.

There service was of a high standard, and My father was on the phone to them for about 1/2 hour discussing fitting of one of the items, they were quite happy to assist him.

A nice bonus is I dont have a credit card, had to pay by direct deposit, but because they are Australian based, the bank they use has a branch 2 minutes up the road from my bank and I was able to go to the bank and directly deposit the money into their account. This saved a day or two in waiting for and electronic transfer of funds to pass.

I would recomend them.

I am very sorry for the delay getting back to you. If you pm or send me an email at jason@locktup4x4.com.au I will look into your inquire and get back with you as soon as I have an answer.

We have started to manufacture our own products. We haven't release them yet because they are still in testing. Once everything is solid we will put them on our site.

Yeah no probs Jason I'll fire a PM through.

Don't take my post as critisism Jason, i'm just telling it like it is. I would have made contact again in the interim but I wasn't in any rush for the product so it's no issue. :D

I've made other inquiries in the past and you guys have been excellent in responding to those.

I'd happily support a local business like yours before going OS. You guys are just what our industry needs to shake up some of the local and at times overpriced competition.

Free stickers, free dvd, free needle roller beering and FREE TWIN STICKS! Just from dealing with them and being a loyal customer. Yeah I'd say they rate pretty highly in my book :D

BTW Jason I'm after some Rocky road bolt on upper extended shock mounts for my zook and a replacement calmini bottom spring plate ;)

I'll fire you a PM once I've worked out the funds for the month.
