Nissan SD33T into Series.

I searched, and nothing came up.

I am aquiring a Series LWB (I am unsure of which S it is).
It currently has a Holden 186 Red motor (with a Blue head) in it which has been sitting for a few years (judging by the amount of black s....tuff on the roof). So one would guess that the motor would need a rebuild.

Now, I have a perfectly good SD33T sitting here with a 4spd. I was just wondering how it would go in the S with say a 5spd (R380 I think) with an LT230 behind that. I know there probably isnt an adaptor to do this but one can make something to suit.

Would the motor be too heavy (I know it has a fair bit of weight to it, but so would a 186 wouldnt it?)?

Would it be a conversion worth doing?

And also, whats the reliability like on the diffs. Will be running 32's to start with and going up when they wear out, no lockers. I have at my disposal either Lux diffs, or MQ diffs. Or would a better option be to sell both sets of diffs, and buy something like a set of GQ or 60 diffs?

And please, no b/s. These are genuine questions. I just want some help with some ideas I have.

Thanks for your time.

i run a sd33t (1bar+ boost,sod off intercooler,propane injection,straight though exhaust etc) with lt77 and lt230 with 1.003:1 gears,31 tyres..

its lovely, beats 3.9l v8 rangies...uprate the springs, iknow mines on coils, but a sorted series should be ok..dont know about your diffs though..

adapter plate available via lro magazine etc..used to be milner, someone else makes them now,but in mag..

run lt95 clutch setup,as it destroys the plate if you use the lt77/r380 pressure plate(not enough pressure, makes it slip at takeoff overwise)

oh i get upto 40mpg too!!!(but not if smoking the tyres)

If still relevant, I had an SD30 with its 5 speed (I'm pretty sure it was) mated to a series transfer.
