Rancho shock problem

I bought a set of Rancho RS9000XL (RS999112) and put them in my Surf, Right out of the box they were very soft even on full hard (I have the in-cab kit) I rang the 4WDBIZ Co. and got to talk to one of the sales guys about the problem and was advised to drive the car as it is normal for them to stiffen up in a few kms of driving.
I drove the Surf for 1 week and 1 shocker totally went soft so I took them out.
Got onto 4WDBIZ and got nothing from them so I went to another supplier and paid to have them checked out only to be told the valving was shot. They checked the bump stops were working as it could have been my install problem.
I run 4"extended bump stops that stopped the shockers fully compressing by 1".
So I got back in touch with 4WDBIZ and got told to send them back at my expense and they will exchange no problems.
It's now been over 4mths and no correspondence from them at all, no answers from E-mails or phone calls........
Extremely ticked off X-customer I am.

Your first mistake was buying Ranchos your second was buying from those guys.
Write them a letter, keep a copy. Contact them and keep through records then go to office of fair trading or something. After talking to them politely of course.

you didn't mount them upside down did you? As this could affect the valving on them.

The call about keeping all calls and letter is the best thing and then go to fair trading, it worked for me in the past when the shop would not do anything to help.

I has dramas with them years ago with a set of springs I bought. the did not give me the lift promised on my MK so I tried to sort it, while they used to advertise free delivery this didnt apply aparrently as I bought them through my mate at a spares shop.
Anyway much tooing & frowing I got a refund, kept the shocks (which the adjustments were next to useless anyway in this application) & bought Carrols which gave me the results I was promised/expecting.
If I did not have my mate in there batting for me & thing the problem would have strung out for a logn time as the after sales service left a lot to be desired.
I have never used them again.

They were mounted the right way up
and yep I have kept all records of correspondence and am in the process of Fair trade route now.
I have been in contact with them over the months and get the run around until I get to the "boss" and then he will simply not come to the phone or will not answer E-mails.
I was told by K*** to send them back to them (at my expense) which I did and they would send me a replacement pair ASAP.
I have run Rancho's for years and decided to go with the new bigger bore shocks (the new silver one's) as I have had a great run with the original RS 9000's.
For the dollars they (the old ones) were great value but the new ones are utter CRAP and there customer service is THE WORST I have ever experienced !
I thought I would have got either my money back or an exchange pair to go under my car BUT I have got nothing, so I decided to post up here just to let anyone know of the drama's I have had with 4WDBIZ & Rancho's and advise NOT to do business with them.

I was going to put rancho's under my 80 but after a bit of research on here and other forums I decided that the aftersales service wasn't good enough for me to invest my dollars in.
I ended up going through Shane (4wd Stuff) and was very happy with the service and aftersales. He even rang me a couple weeks later to make sure I was happy with the shocks and springs and told me to call if I had any problems.

Do you have courier confirmation that they actually were delivered? EG: they recieved them.
there seems to be a sad increase in this sort of story in 4b gear in recent times... :(
lets hope the good stores can keep their heads above water.

I didn't realise so much stuff went missing. Long story short I got a call from the police this morning to pick up my rifle - turns out that my firearms licence renewal was not received by the registry. The registry also commented that heaps of their in and outgoing mail never arrives.

Yep got told by a sales member my shocks arrived and they were checked & found to be stuffed (he also said they have had a few others with valving problems), after this phone conversation I thought they would just replace them (which was what I was after) but then weeks went by and I started calling & E-mailing.
I spoke to a sales staff and he basically said to keep ringing & E-mailing because he was ticked off with the bad after service 4WDBIZ has and usually people just call a few times then give up..
