Vitara OME is only 1" ?

Hey Guys
94 LWB G16b Vitara.
Everyone seems to recommend a 2" OME suspension lift, but every shop I talk to only have a 1.1" (30mm). They say they don't make a 2"
Is 'everyone' here just assuming it was a 2" and didn't check, or is there some top secret OME suspenion that no shops know about :S ?
Cheers
Chris

estimated lift 30mm...if you have the winchbar springs and constant rears it will come up higher if you don't carry the load the springs were designed for.

There aren't actually many companies that make an 'out of hte box' 2" lift for the vitara
The ones that do, are usually so stiff you will chatter all your teeth out.
Your best bet is to buy the OME kit and add some spring spaces to make up the difference. The OME shocks will be long enough to allow the extra lift

Yeah gotta love false advertising. Though in defence of OME i would say that their kit provides a much better riding and flexing kit than many other brands.
Its simple really, the higher a suspension kit goes, the harsher the ride is going to be.

Yep, if I did it again I would go for the softer OME springs and make up the diff with spacers, the heavies I've got are a little harsh when the zook is empty (I think I was warned by someone on here). Still it feels like a go-kart when light and doesn't lose all its height when full, so hey, who needs kidneys or intervertebral discs.

i don't think there is anything to defend. they have never advertised the fact that thier vit kits are 2 inch or 50mm.

Thanks Guys.
The guys at shop said they have normal and medium stiffness. I dont have any extra weight at the front, so I'll get normal.
But at the rear I have tools/rear seat fulll with people. Would I be better getting the medium for the rear? or just stay with the normal ones?

Found the same thing.
Everybody talks about the 2" lift but when going to the shops they do tell you it's only 30mm approx. They do also say that 2 " in the max you want to go for the CV'S sake.

well I got 42mm out of the OME kit.
Plus I have 30mm spacers, so around 70mm all up.
Who thinks this will be too much? I have read of people having the spacers and OME in.
I am yet to see if my camber pins can handle the extra hieght too. May have to take the spacers out. Hope not. Such a pain to do :(

camber pins from Pedders suspension managed to handle the 30mm spacers + OME kit
