ZD30 Servicing

Post by bigbluemav »

Hi All

I used to pay to get the GU serviced to keep the warranty good, but since its nearly 8 years old with 170k on the clock, I'm thinking that's not a happening thing anymore!!

Any hints as I've only ever done oil change etc on the Mav', a surf and 'lux.

I plan on only getting Nissan oil and air filters and doing it every 5000kms. What oil do you suggest, and at the risk of sounding ignorant (daughters were supposed to get Gregory's Manual for Christmas!!), how much oil for it, including filters.

Any other hints or weird things for this engine?

Thanks in advance.

Cool!! Ta for that!! Excellent site!!! Strangely helpful for an oil company

Goddamn but servicing it will cost some!! I went to super cheap and the oil alone is $120 (2x 5L)

Anyone got a price on oil filter and air filter from Nissan? I recall being told to only use genuine Nissan bits.

If you head to a BP depot etc, they can sell you oil in bulk.

I bought a 10L Castrol diesel oil suit patrol for $65. Sux part is the 4.2 needs about 12L with filters, so am short each time ! :D

You can get Nissan brand oil for ZD30 for around $70 (2x 5l) from Nissan spare parts.
