I have just bought an LRA long range fuel tank second hand and am after some info on the best way to plumb into my 91 Mav. There seems to be an extra pipe into the tank that I'm not sure where it goes and also the best way to run both the tanks. INfo (especially pics) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jafo

The extra pipe on the tank could be a return
line from the fuel injection of a later patrol with fuel injection.

As far as plumbing goes, I would keep them completely independant of each other, even to the point of having an extra fuel pump if the original tank has a lift pump at it. This to me is the most failsafe system with the least cost.... my 2c

I havent seen my LRA tank for awhile. But from memory it was just a balance pipe that fed back in to the breather.
As the std tank has the filler basically at the top of the tank. But on a LRA it is sliglty below the top of the tank.

Awesome thanx turps, that makes sense. How do you run them, do have a switch or something so that you can decide which tank you are running from or is it your only tank so it doesn't matter.

JAFO74, try an email to the blokes at LRA. They are pretty helpful and I'd guess they know what they are doing. Certainly more than me (DAMHIK... )

I only had a replacement LRA tank. So sorry I cant help. But when I do fit a 2nd tank, which will most likly be the Factory 95lt tank. I am just going to mount it behind the cab as low as I can get it. Then run a transfer pump.
