Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum, I have FJ 60 with a 3F engine running on petrol and LPG, I would like to upgrade to a V8, does anyone have some suggestions on what would fit and what would be good, I was thinking maybe a 350 chev, I would like to go efi but don't know if there is anything like this available. Any help would be great.

if you want to look at crate motors most common place ive seen them advertises is in street machines mag, that will give you a little info and defiantly some one to ring up and ask some questions too. other than that take the question to a mechanic, they can tell you where and what you need and how much wit would cost to find an injected 350.

from my past expieriences i wouldnt bother doing another old v8 conversion they always blow out of budget.
An injected 350 wouldnt cost much but for a little more you can buy a complete injected 6 litre out of a commod for around the $3500 mark, which will make alot more power to.
Depending on how much you want to spend thats the way id be going.

im about to drop a 302 clevo into my hj 60,just waiting on the engine mounts,i bought the complete conversion kit, gear box and engine cheap, might upgrade to a 351 down the track, but will see how the 302 goes for now,350 chevs are common in 60 series cruisers,as are injected 5 litre commadore motors, good luck with your choice, theres alot of options for you

thanks for all your feedback guys, I think I will speak to a mechanic. I guess the main issue would be adapting the gearbox to the engine, what else would I have to look out for? I don't think space would be an issue.
