Hey guys I have in possesion a stock standard jdm 4age engine.
I just want to know from those that has done this conversion, what troubles were there? and what gearbox and engine mounts did you use?

What are you planning to put it into - Scat, Feroza, Rocky...... ?
What gearbox / transfer are you planning on using ?

Until we find out a bit more, I suspect your not going to get much useful info.

This is going to sund very negative... but I've done a fair bit of work on options etc etc.

Your going to have challenges in every direction..... using a Feroza transmission isn't a worderfull idea - they are barely up to a stock motor.
But if you can make an adapter plate to join the engine to the belhousing etc etc then anything is possible.

A complete motor / transmission swap from something else IMO is a better idea BUT the Feroza is very short so that limits the options available. Even if you use a divorced transfer, package length is an issue.

If using an integral case, then lenght is a big problem as is rear output shaft height.

IF you don't want transfer gears, the simples option would be to fit a Feroza auto & transfer which will allow a belhousing swap to fit a Suzuki 1600,2000 or V6 as a bolt on.

Everything else is a significant job - and I mean serious engineering and or cost.

I'll be very interested in hearing what you choose to do.
