Hey guys got a strange one here can any give more info regarding the electronic dizzy setup on a 3.5 RRC carby engine its the one with the two wires coming out of it and running to the coil control under the coil.
The main info I am after is whether its a reluctor pickup, optical, halls gap.
Also if the coil fires on the negative or positive edge. E.g it fires when the signal from the dizzy goes high or low. I don't want to give away to much info about what I am up to till I get this figured out.
If anyone can point me in the right direction of a website or has the info on hand it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Kris

Its a VR sensor, that much I can tell you for certain. Which edge it fires on, I couldn't tell you.

I'm guessing you want to run an aftermarket computer off it? I tried this with my Megasquirt, and couldn't pick any signal up off it (and couldn't be bothered playing with the adjustments on the input circuit), so what I did was left the standard module in place, and rewired its output to send the rpm signal to the ECU, then used the ECU to drive the coil. Not ideal, but an easy workaround....

The better solution if this is what you are trying to do, is to fit a toothed wheel on the crank pulley, but its a bit of a pain.
