Most the time a dent wont affect the shock pop it off and feel it through the travel if its dented too far will have a tight spot then will need replacing if not keep driving with it

the top casing on my rear shocks for my zuk(hilux shocks) are all hacked up and dented from hitting brackets on the diff under compression, have been like this for ages and im still running them lol

just pull off and check for any notches, tight spots possibly damAGED from the dent

As others have said, if its not binding, then keep running it.

is that from the metal brake line brackets? my shocks ended up getting pierced from the brackets so when i replaced the shocks i removed the bracket and pushed the line away from the shock to avoid damage to the new shocks. it might be worthwhile doing this to avoid having to buy new shocks.

My brake line brackets did the same. it would be nice if suspension kit manufacturers mentioned that problem when selling their gear.

fix the problem. the tires rub on the shocks now :D i dont think its ready that bad but it there only when flexing up. that shouldnt cause damage now will it? i thinking of puting some thin sheet steel or someing to protect the shock from the tires?

The problem is not fixed until there is no contact anywhere. Post some pics and someone will be able to help out.
