Diff centre need gasket goo??

I am just about to put the diff centre back into my GU patrol diff, got a new genuine gasket, just want to know if it needs gasket goo and if so what type? cheers

It wouldn't hirt. When i was fiting lockers i would just clean off the old gasket and use some RTV sealer or something simalar..

Yep,I gave up using gaskets on diff centers a while ago. I just clean off the goo from last time and put a good coating on. There are no narrow oil/water galleries to consider blocking like on an engine part.

I use some blue silicon type stuff that's meant to be for use where oil is present. Clean the old shit off, wipe it over with some brake clean so the gasket goo can adhere to the metal surfaces.

M8 if ya got a gasket use gasket goo if not use silicone wurth silicone is reel good never had a problem with it but there pritty much all the same.
