hi guys i got a 60 series and im looking at putting a worked xf EFI 250 crossflow in it and running it on stright gas with a carby, will be turboing it down the track. is this a good idea or is a v8 the way to go.
what needs to be done to the engine
what carby is the best for this application
who sells the conversion kit, is there anyone hear selling one or knows someone that is.

If your hell bent on using the 250 which personally I think would be really good as if you did the motor properly you would have bucket loads of torque and plenty of room under bonnet.
The main problem for 4WD usage is the sump capacity is fairly small (4.5ltrs) and the shape doesnt really account for huge inclines. I would get an after market sump with baffling and a steep walled resevoir to stop oil surge in 4WD usage.

i had one in my old fj45 swb and loved it drove great sat happily on 110
would do it again in a heartbeat however id go a c4 auto behind it then a adapter to whatever transfer case you wanna use
the rodshop kits suck and mean you cant run any stock engine acessories on the drivers side like aircon or alternator which sux cause there both better than the stock fj40 gear
