hi everyone i am pretty new to this and i have a question,i just read up on a lsd insert made by detroit and its called a truetrac now the only reason why i am really interested in this is because unlike conventional lsd this one dosnt use any clutdhes or wear plates, and might be an option for my 86 f75 2.8td since a automatic lockers aparently arent really any good?any advice would be appreciated

There have been a number of quite extensive discussions on lockers for Daihatsu's of all types, a search of the forum should give you lots of info.
There are options, varying from model to model - but not all are still available. In all cases the rarity makes it an expensive exercise
But lets get a basic fact established first.... lockers cost real money.
People forget that just because their vehicle is worth a couple of grand doesn't mean that lockers are a couple of hundred.
Even for vehicles that are common ( and that's not Daihatsu... ) the simplest mechanical locker will cost around $500 unfitted ( exchange rate makes it hard to get exact ) and air lockers substantially more ( up to $2000 fltted / end ).
So go rattle the piggybank first... if you can blow big money on your Hatsu then do it but very very few people do more than moan.
Its quite funny actually in a strange way.... Lots of Hatsu owners SAY they want lockers but if its going to cost - change the subject !
Even if you have the money... i'd argue that an axle swap is a more sensible option. Lockers place much more stress on the drivetrain and Hatsu's aren't unbreakable so something stronger is a plus.
So the pics of the MIG welder are very appropriate
