Using 90/100W headlight bulbs with standard wiring loom - GV

Hi,
I was after some advice on fitting 90/100W bulbs to my Vitara using the standard wiring loom, which currently have the 55/60 bulbs.
Do you think it will draw too much current for the standard wiring?
The guys selling them said that it should be OK - anyone with first hand knowledge can confirm this?

thanks

Should be fine. I ran them i mine when i had it. The only issue you might need to watch for is if yours has plastic reflectors.... they may melt if you generate too much heat.

Should still be ok though.

Using those bulbs I'd err on the safe side and make an Axillary harness for them, it's not that hard to do, I run one in my BF Falcon. in saying that it's usually not the actually harness that's the problem, it's usually the fuse panel that melts

You will propably find that if you make a decent harness for the headlights, they will become much brighter anyway without changing out bulbs.

X2 running upgraded bulbs with stock wiring is dumb.

You will see an obvious improvement with upgraded wiring alone.

Upgrading the bulbs alone only makes the volt drop through the stock wiring worse.

Upgrade the loom, then put whatever globes in it you want.

I've fitted Osram Nightbreakers with stock wiring into my XL-7. They give a worthwhile improvement with no wiring changes. They're still 55/60W.
