temp guage needle position at operating temp

i have a 88 gq patrol tb42e engine and just wanted to know where peoples temp gauge sits at when off road and on road as mine sits at around half but never used to on road it sits at just over a quarter

my gq, is turbo and running 20 psi, but it sits about a quater around town and in the bush, and a bees dick below half doin 120 kmh down the highway, cheers

i would buy yourself an aftermarket guage, there are heaps of posts on the accuracy of the stock nissan guage, at least you will have a better idea on the water temp.

yep anywhere from just under half to 3/4 mine goes. This is fine as long as the engine is full of water. Problems occur when at 3/4 temp you start to lose water.
