Removing the front windscreen

Can somebody give me some tips on removing a front windscreen?
(80 series)
I'd like to try and get it out in one peice so I can paint the truck then either put it back or get a auto glass guy to refit it.

Sorry, I can offer any real assistance with this as I know jack about cruisers and removing their windscreens

are you wanting to replace the glass ? or the seal ?
i havent priced an 80 one but with the 75 they are both about as dear as each other
if your getting a new seal just cut around it and take the outer lip off it and then push out if it doesnt move thread some piano or mig wire through it and saw it out
otherwise you pry the inner lip of the rubber seal over the body whist pushing out on the glass
odds are you will break it unfortunatly if you havent done it before
wear some PPE whilst your working on the glass

I'm painting the truck - changing the colour - so need to pull it out to do the job properly.
There is also sealant oozed out around the windscreen that need to be cleaned up properly.
Anyone have a windscreen replaced professionally recently that can tell me the costs?

whoever you were going to get to put it back in ask them how much to remove ? is usually in the cost of a replacement...
just tell them what your doing as you will need to clean up the old sealant in there before painting

From memory it costs about $60 to remove and replace plus rubber in needed and winscreen. If the windcreen has a chip or crack in it there's a very good chance you will stuff the screen taking it out.
GQ front screens are only $100 and aftermarket rubbers are about the same for any make or model. So i'd say a cruiser would be the same. If the windscreens not damaged at all i'll suggest you get the pros to take it out as they can usually get them out without breaking them. If there's chips then they will more then likely stuff it too.
We have a very cool tool at work that can get any screen out without breaking them. It works off heat and it will only melt the urathane without damaging the screen. This saves having to cut windows out with wire and one person can do it unlike the old way with wire.

Where are GQ screens $100? I am replacing one at the moment and am looking at $360 fitted.

I just run O'br...
They said $200 to remove and refit at a later date.
Which I thought wasn't too bad considering that includes a new rubber.
They were pretty confident they could remove it without damage - it has no chips or cracks - looks pretty good if not recently replaced.

All 4x4 spares at Kotara sell them for about $120 each but I can get them threw work for $100.
$360 is probably for Remove and replace plus new rubber and screen.
