I'm not sure what a D-lander is, but the hypoid JacMac diffs are setup using a Toyota Hilux CW/P

A D-Lander is a fibre glass bodied freelander with a full internal rollcage, 100" wheelbase and whatever engine you decide to use, in my case a TD5 with a 4HP22 autobox.
As for the diffs, are those the Hypoid diffs then using the hilux R&P??

They use a toyota 8"/200mm low pinion R&P.

Sorry if this is a waste of time but they have some information on their website, also if you email jeff he is very helpful.
Here is the website:
http://www.mcnamaradiffs.com.au/products.html
Generally when you order a diff from them they just ask you what ratio you would like and make it up for you.

I cant say i find the website overly helpful, text says one thing and pics show what is seemingly another and they lack technical details too.
I did get an initial reply from JM however i have not had a reply to my followup....3 weeks and counting :(
Seriously considering flogging them off and going the "standard" ashcroft & ARB route for my axles.

Then you would have inferior diffs.
ARB are not as good and no rover ring and pinion aren't anywhere near as strong. Good range of toyota and aftermarket ring and pinion ratios available as well.
Axles (half shafts) are larger, stronger than rover 24 spline. And Longfield cv's stronger than Ashcroft.
The ring gear and pinion are toyota hilux - you don't need to get these from jacmac.

John, i have a set of toy converted diffs that i would like to keep, but i need to go back to around a 3.5 ratio as the 4.1, LT95 isuzu combo is to high . Got any ideas how i could do this without spending a small fortune?

You can get 3.54 CW/P sets.....
http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog ... gears.html
3.54HP may be the hard part.

Yeah the front is whats making it hard, will have to go the rover/maxi combo instead, or 5 speed behind the isuzu

What bigger than 35's, ideally i need either 3.54's with the lt95 or 4.11 and .7something overdrive to make it ok

Is a County or Stage 1 LT95 geared differently and more suitably?

.996 is the tallest

Damien,
I don't know of any reverse cut R&P in the ratios you want.
The jacmac hypoid units are not high pinion - they list
3.42,3.54, 3.72, 3.9, 4.1, 4.3, 4.375, 4.56, 4.71, 4.875, 5.28 & 5.71 being readily available world-wide
Superior make R&P for toys but don't list anything on their web site that I could find.
I would try the toyota truck and 4runner forum on pirate for information.

Jacmac sell their bare housing for around $650 (last I asked). That will let you run low pinion 3.42s or 3.54s F&R.

Thanks Ben, was aware of this but not the price, its either go this route of sell it all and maxidrive it.

MacNamara also do a 3.54 High Pinion gear set. I know this as Sam Overton's Turbo 80 series is running a set of 3.54 gears front and rear from MacNamara.
