Things I noted:

- Whilst redzook is SPOA on 33's he's doesn't look really high.
- Germo's SPUA on 31's with 'slightly longer' shackles, is almost as high....
- Germo's 31's simex 'look' as big as Reds 33's.

you will find that the 31 Simexes are a very big 31. We have a guy in our club running them and they do appear to be not much smaller than the 34 swampers

And then I climed aboard Tim's "Plumber's Ladder Rack" TM ;) , and then went back to the competition to watch Kermit compete.

Good to checkout Tims setup, just wondering if its possible to fit my Hilux diffs SPUA.... or if I'd have to 'throw out my morals and go SPOA'......?

I'm thinking you may have issues with sump clearance at the front... but i could well be wrong about that.

(Sump in centre and the diff centres would be too)

Need some info of the Hightop (Germo's).

What lift/gearing is that running. Also has the guards been cut and are they the jt2?.

Thanks

Nic

From the pics above i have determined that they are Simex Centipedes (no gary - not the mud terrains).

:)

Ashley (Germo) has 5.11:1 diff gears, wide tracks, 31" simex JT1 (c'pedes).

Currently no t/case gearing (although it's high on the list of things to do...like me).

No body lift, front diff moved forward about 30mm, gaurds have been cut all around, and a bit of dodgy flareing temporarily tossed on to try and hide the 40-50mm gap between the outer skin, and the inner gaurds (whistles in the cab at speed, although the noise of the tyres overrides the wind.....).

Trust this helps.

Sadly, I think those h/lux diffs are calling out to me......

SPUA.....

SPUA.....

More work to do.

You should get them... Then you'll be able to run something big and groovy like a 37" bogger or something

See that's where the plot thickens, I already have them, and I've got access to some 36" c/pedes......

But, how do you guy's go with insurance? or am I being to "serious"......I already have 1xspecial toy car (a street rod), I need to make this a Daily driver, and don't particularly wanna join a club due to 'politics' hence I was originally only going with the 'in-the-know' common mods like gearing etc which aren't quite as 'visual'...........

Note: my wife want's to drive this regularly to work and I want her to be safe......

Maybe I'm thinking to hard, 36"pedes and lux diffs are kinda standard aren't they?

NRMA won't mind/care.

Suppose insurance is for pussies.........

meow.

I think 35's and spring under = removed / relocated headlights...

Insurance would be questionable. If you want to play it by the book, start talking to an engineer now about what size tyres you can run with the hilux diffs, then get the build done, engineer it, then update your insurance. I think all should be good if you do it that way.

It was winched up to where that shot was taken, then driven from there on. It was a big vertical face which was cut out with a dozer/shovel.

Grimbo.....28 A roadster pickup, in progress 1/2 done.
