Has anyone done this with good results.
Thinking of mid or rear mounting my low mount 9000lb winch in a hilux truggy.Need to know how far do you need to stop the pipe that the cable runs through before the winch to get it to still coil back on in good fashion.Dose the fiar lead on the front of the vehicle have to sit in the center or can it be offset .
Any help you be great
Duncan

When someone has been here 5 years longer than you have, you can pretty much make the assumption he knows how to search.
Leave the search nazi stuff for the newbs dude.

Europeans do it a lot. seems half of the serious mud runners have mid or rear mounts.
When I quizzed'em, the reply was "if we get stuck we want to get out, not further in"
... and ... since there're possibly more of just the one make off-roading over there than our entire 4WD fleet I guess it's kinda hard to disagree ... ...
