Hello,
Have just purchase a RB 30 with a 25 head and I am going to drop it into a GQ patrol. The patrol is the carby RB 30.
Basically I need to know what fuel pump to use that will fit, I want to get something decent, defiantly a bosch unit.
Some specs on the motor are.
RB30DET
High mount manifold
Standard RB25 nissan turbo
bigger injectors not sure on size
greddy adj cam gears
r33gtst oil pump
600x300x76 front mount intercooler
twin thermo fans
I am wanting to run about 10psi constantly
Any thoughts much appriciated

VLT pump will be touch and gop in regards to whether or not it can support that sort of an engine combo. if the truck still has the original low pressure fuel pump in it, use that as a lift pump into a surge tank, then run a bosch 044 from there. you could always skip the surge tank all together and just run an 044, but the surge tank sure as hell won't hurt.
when putting together a performance engine such as that (even though that is only a fairly basic build), there's really no such thing as overkill on the fuel system.

yep, it is still running original low pressure pump. A bosch 044 will that fit into the tank and replace the original one or should I be looking at getting and external one? what is better?
Im leaning toward a surge tank I can easily make one up.

external is the best way to go... they are just easier to find when yours breaks... a good internal would be just as good but 044 pumps are at almost every part store accross australia

vlt pump should be fine provided its set up and tuned for a 4b.
the fuel system can handle more then 10 psi on a stock vlt easy.
may struggle at very high rpm with det head at high revs but that tune wouldnt suit your application.
lysdexia is right in saying that theres no such thing as overkill on a fuel system. you can always send it back to the tank.
