80 series Extra Cab - a work in progress.
Yes, it's a common way of reseating beads.
The title should have read "how to reseat beads" not "how to inflate a tyre"
Steve.

I was watching the Australiasian Safari dvd last night, and they showed the BF Goodridge guys changing tires. They had a setup I'd never seen before. Looked like a 10L airtank, hooked up to a large ball valve, with a wide flat nozzle (like a tire iron shape almost). They sat the nozzle against the rim, opened the valve, and the rush of air popped the bead back on much like the flammable trick
Yep, we've done it a few times at cruiser park now, clean the crap out of the rim,REMOVE THE VALVE ( or like we found out you have a missle flying in any given direction, hairspray run a trail of it across the tyre, light it, and jump on the tyre to suck in oxygen, boom tyre rebeaded.
PS. Black and gold hairspray is the best for spudguns, rebeading etc, dont know what it does to your hair but it has some bang for your buck haha.
If the bead has not completely come off, unbolt the wheel and put a hilift base right next to the bead and jack a car up with the jack and it will pop the bead, away you go

Most tyre shops have these. They're bloody loud, but work well.antt wrote:I was watching the Australiasian Safari dvd last night, and they showed the BF Goodridge guys changing tires. I've used the aerosol can trick quite a few times - mainly with quad bike and ride-on mower tyres. I've always found it best to leave the valve and core in, as leaving the core out act as an exhaust for the burnt gases (HOT - did you see the guy touch the valve and pull his hand away???), and can allow it to burn on.
Any tyre place that deals with large tyres will have one.antt wrote:I was watching the Australiasian Safari dvd last night, and they showed the BF Goodridge guys changing tires. What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.
