Outer Limits 4x4 Board

A mate of mine that has a 2000 model Challenger and takes it offroad a bit had a tie rod failure. Looks to be wear in the thread of the tie rod and then the end let go on the road.
This car is unmodified too.

Just wanted to pass it on as I'll be checking the one on my pajero as soon as I get a chance (I imagine they are at least similar)

Hard to tell from that picture alone. Possibly a structural flaw in that particular tierod?
