Anyone fitted a 60s front diff into a lux.
Looking at doing it but ive been told that id have to cut n rotate the knuckles to get correct caster and pinion angles.
I know that it has to be done if your doing a spring over on a 60 but thats cos its giving it 6" plus of lift.
Info would be great!
Cheers

why would you go to the effort of fitting a 60 series diff? the standard lux stuff isnt exactly known as being weak.

Larger c+p. plus other internals, then add Longfields and you have a lot stronger than a Lux diff. Also it is the same width as an IFS rear on a Lux so it gets you the width without spacers, I have looked at it a few times
OT I am not sure on the cut and flip maybe because it is a soa that it requires it?

Spot on.
Yeah the only reason why i can see it would have to be cut n rotated in a 60 is cos of the spring over.
Lux's are sprung over std but they sit pretty low, i cant see it would be a prob.
I know the west end boys from TT08 had a 60 front does anyone know a username for them?

Do the 60's come with 4.88 ratio's?
Or do you have to buy aftermarket gears?
I know 4.11 are pretty common otherwise i would be fitting some.
If you keep your spring pack flat you could probaly get away without cutting and turning the knuckles.

Yeah they come with 4.11 but u can get 4.88 for em
Im running dropped hanger and ext shackles at the moment will be using rear leaves with only 4 leaves in the pack so they will pretty much sit flat.
If it comes down to having to cut em ill just leave the lux in there dont want to tho

Put a high pinion center out of a bundy longfeild super set and you wont have a problem, also smaller diff than a 60 so you wont get hung up as much and you wont have to change the diff ratio in the rear as you can get ont to suit. I run this set up in my buggy and before that in my lux have never broken a center ran 38"s in the lux and have 37" stickies on the buggy.
