I lurv the look of that and the associated ideas and products that instantly spring to mind.
Good to see some major developments like this entering the Rover section. The 9" ring gear is only 1/2" bigger than what we already have so there would not be a huge amount of work needed to the stock housing to fit it.
But I can imagine that strength of the actual housing might come into play when you start dealing in the 5:1 and way above that ratios available for the Ford 9".

On the LR4x4 thread, Dave posted that the knuckles/CV/stub mods will add 40mm track to each side of the axle.
I'm starting saving for a pair now !

Have you seen any indication on what price would be?? If it was a simple bolt in proposition I'd say he could make a pretty penny out of it.

When the axles were first announced and discussed on LR4x4 Dave said he was aiming for around 6K GBP for the pair. Obviously those were early days but I'd guess they're aiming at getting them in at a competitive price.

id hope so becasue that would make it $17000 Australian dollars, before shipping or import taxes.... could have bought Maxidrive portals for that, and im sure you could get custom Diamond 9 housings and all the goodies to go with for that or less.
still looks like a good development. hope they get the price more realistic.

Might be a location thing, in the UK 6k for a pair of unbreakable "bolt on" axles doesn't seem that bad. Defo compares well with the opposition especially since the pound died against the US dollar. A pair of Dynatrac axles will set us back around 9k and that's before you get around to modifying everything to get them to fit !
6K is about 13k AUD at the moment by the way which is cheaper than a set of MD portals if you can get them and you still end up with the "weak" standard diff in the middle (or so I thought ?)
If someone wants to pay to ship my motor back over to Australia I'll "sneak" a few sets of axles into the container as "spares"
