water pump?

have you tested the new thermostat?

Did you replace the old thermo stat cause it got very hot previously? hot enough to have damaged something?

does the top and bottom pipe both get hot? this will tell you if the whole system is flowing.

I would start with getting your radiator cleaned properly not just flushed. Get the end tanks pulled off and the core cleaned properly.

Is it something that has just started happening or has it been getting worse over a period of time.

Make sure the radiator is clean on the outside too. And then make sure the air-con condensor is clean aswell (as it sits in front of the radiator). If they are coated in dirt and mud, your engine temps will rise very quickly. A simple hoseing out will do.

I'm having trouble with my 1HDT 80 series getting warm while freeway driving with the air cond on :?: .
I had flushed the radiator put on new hoses and coolant, after finding a slight leak on a heater hose, then 2 months later on a trip it started playing up :?

there is no sign of a head gasket problem, so yesterday I put some new fluid in the viscous coupling thinking that this was playing up, and tested it out and it still gets warm, but only at 100 to 110km p/h, or on big hills.
at 80 to 90 the temp drops back down.

its got me f#*@ked whats causing it.

Is the core blocked with mud? Try taking it out and washing the outside with a hose, while you're at it flush the thing again. I know I had a similar issue where the front of it was blocked so air wasnt flowing through at speed and cooling it down, when I hosed it down out of the car i got ALOT of mud out of it.

Oh right i didnt realise it was loosing water... Well have you had it pressure tested? Could be a good idea to help find the leak. If it comes up with nothing check the small hose(s) at the radiator cap as well because the pressure tester will sit below them so in the pressure test it might come up fine because the water is dripping out the overflow hose or similar.

I ended up replacing the radiator and thermostat.
Its all sweet now :D

The old radiators tubes were blocked up a bit reducing the flow and not working efficiently.

hmm i might do the same i think the 35s make it heat up real easy going up small hills or when the engine is under load

ive done thermostat, viscous hub, radiator hoses, temp sensor, water pump, then had the radiator 'flushed' by a radiator mob. still sits at 80-95 ok, but hit 100, starts to climb. im getting a new radiator through the week, they cant always get it all out. will be checking the timing for being retarded while im there
