Pros: Awesome offroad, great flex, easily upgradeable, more strength especially if longs are fitted, oh and awesome offroad.

Cons: Will never drive as well as it did IFS, steering is not as precise, more bodyroll and other factors mean its not as safe at speed on road as it was.

Having said that it is not unsafe or undriveable it just makes it drive like an older rig ;) I wouldnt hesitate to do another one

If you do a lot of 4WDing you soon get sick of repairing alignment, balljoints, etc on the IFS.

I have, and it basically wanders around like an old XB falcon, so I figure a stronger and well kept SAS will be better than an un kept IFS anyway.

Cheers

Cheezy did mine and it handles grouse at speed and is awesome offroad too.
The only part that wears out on my 5 link set up is the steering tie rod, it lasts about 6 months but everything else is bullet proof now.
The solid front has been in over 5years now and to date all I have changed is the steering tie rod (9 of them) & 1 steering dampener.
With sway bars on I rekon my Surf handles as good as the IFS did, I have no problem keeping up with cars and going through the twisty hills is great fun.
