Hey
I have a 78 series landcruiser and i hate the standard seats. I bought some 1999 wrx seats and want to put them in, except the rails are completely different!
Is someone able to help me mod/fit them up? I have no idea how to do it.
Thanks

I just fitted BA xr6 seats to my 75. Use your rails and make up adapter plate that bolts to your rail and then has separate holes to adapt to the seat base.I used 75x6mm flat bar shaped like a picture frame. You need to use grade 8 bolts and hardened washers
Move the passenger side RH rail over. The front hole is their pre factory for buckets but you will have to drill the back. Then make up a plate 50x50x10mm tap a hole in the middle 10mm x 1.25 so you can use the original bolt. If you need more info on mounts/blue plate regs pm me. It was not that fun a job but once done its very rewarding. Take the time to make sure you mount it central to the steering wheel. If you want I can take more photos of mounts and seats. I even made a centre console since. Got it blue plated no probs

I heard that there were threaded nuts already welded under the floor pan to suit the bucket seats (79 RV's), you just needed to locate them and carefully drill the floor pan. I am also in the process of fitting buckets to a 79 but haven't got that far yet. I have the fuel tank removed from mine and the section with the nuts is boxed in and you can't see them.
I heard this from someone who fitted a set of recaro seats and this info was included in the fitting insructions.
Hope that helps, Adam
