hey all took the zook for a strap and as i got out of the gate its started running like a peace of crap. its like it running out of fuel. as in not geting anough fuel you have to keep pumping the accelerater just to keep the motor going fuel pump seems to be pumping well and fuel filt is fine so it must be some where in the carby can i turn the fuel mixture up a bit because if u choke it a bit it seems to be a bit better any help or guess would be good because im stumped cheers

i'm not exactly sure what it could be but i remember reading about a common problem with the standard carbys. my original carby did something similar to what you described but i ripped it off a put a weber on it. have you tried a search? carby problems have been covered heaps.

mine did this and a quick check over the engine bay revealed a vacuum hose had slipped off the carby. it has run perfect after that

Clean out the jets. The zook idle jet is stupidly small (like the motor). Pull out one of the jet access bolts at the front of the float bowl and blow a bit of compressed air through, then pull the idle solenoid and blow some air through it. Re-fit parts, spray carby cleaner down the guts to clean anything else out. Restart and see if its any better. Try fitting a second filter between the pump and carby, just put a bracket on your manifold to hold it. If it goes okay for a while then does this again, pull the carby to bits for a proper re-build. Then flush out your fuel system as you most likley have a whole pile of garbage built up in there. Usually once you fit a second filter the problem goes away. If you get a clear one (Bout $5 at super cheap) you can keep an eye on whats coming into the filter.
The mixture on the side of the carby is just the idle mixture. It should have a factory seal over it, as they are supposed to be a never service item. When you get the carby sorted you are going to have to re-set the mixture.
