G'day guys,
Looking at a FMIC setup for a LC 1fzfe and have not been able to find any info on the best locations for the intercooler inlet and outlet pipes.
While I'm able to run outlets at either end or from one end I suspect that entry and exit from each end is best. However is it preferred to have the inlet and outlet in any patricular position, ie: both centred or staggered and is it ideal to to have the hot side come in from the top so the cool air goes to the bottom etc - similar to a radiator ???
Additionally, while the majority of intercoolers are made and marketed so the air runs longways through a narrow section of cores, other info sugests that its preferred if the air actually runs a shorter distance through many cores. It does appear that the differences would only be measurable in race applications but I could be wrong...
Would be great if someone can help clarify this please.
Cheers,
Nathan
