i have had a change of mind about what i am going to do to my truck 97 hilux

i have already purchased and am in the process of fitting a 2" body lift.

i have piced a 4" leaf sprung lift and was also thinking of extended shackles.

now i am leaning to a 2" lift and 2" extended shackles it should run 33"s pretty easy yes?

thoughts and opinions on how you have or would lift a hilux would be great

cheers

Assuming its a solid axle? depends on how far you want to go with the lift? 2'' springs with 2'' body lift should just clear 33's and leave the rest of the car relitively unchanged. Go any bigger or higher and its starts to get a bit more complicted and expensive. with that said do the body lift and the 2'' springs and see if your happy with it, dont do anything with your shackles, they wont really help yet and you wil prob just get defected anyway

I think you can even run 2 inch suspension lift with a RUF which moves the front diff forward about 30mm which then gives you enough clearence to run 33's

There is plenty of info on here about it. maybe even go 3-4in sus lift and don't bother with body lift.

IMO body lift just raises you centre of gravity - there are better ways of fitting bigger tyre - but that just me

doesnt a suspension lift raise the cog as well if not more as with a body lift you are just lifting the body but with a suspension lift you are lifting the body plus the motor trans and chassis

Thats where it gets more exspensive with the diff being moved foward need's shorter steering arm and torque rod or hi steer also longer tailshaft and extended shackles.
Could tub the front guards?
