Typical oils and fluids for the TJ Wrangler

Post by stiiixy »

Hi guys. I've been wondering for a long time what the most economical and practical (and safe!) bunch of fluids etc are good to go in the TJ Wrangler. Example, Mobil 1 is a bit cost prohibitive for engine oil for me, but on the other hand Shell Helix is only good for serving to drunken party-crashers. If any one has any opinions etc they would be muchly appreciated as the transmission is due for a change.

Engine:
Transmission:
Transfer:
Front/Rear Diff:
Brake:
Power Steering:

Again, thanks for any advice!

k, so that's not going down to well. I'll just chuck Sin-everything in there then

Can anyone in the ACT region tell me where I can get some Champion sparkies (and possibly leads) from though? I couldn't find them in Tugger's at Auto/Repco and Super*BLEEP*. Is there a brand/model/type I can safely use in the Wrinkler aside from the one's that came with my beast?

Spanky veddy muchly :D

Champion are the factory ones right? The last set I bought were over the spare parts counter from the dealer (Rolfe in Phillip).... and they weren't crazy expensive.

Oils and stuff I just follow the numbers in the handbook and just buy middle of the range stuff - not home brand, not mobile 1. I don't give it too much thought ;)
