search is your friend. yes they make them from new.

have done for 10 years.

same as the GQ as far as the chassis goes, so they still want to roll over as often as you'd expect.

Plenty of lwb 4.2gu's here, i've seen lots of swb gu's around christchurch but i assume they are 2.8's...can't say i've taken much notice - too distracted with the gq!

Well i suppose the aussie dollar is higher than the kiwi so that would offset some of the cost  . Having said that a mate shipped his 89 safari shorty with 35" swampers, 2 + 2 lift. arb bars etc to Perth last year with no probs that i know of, cost him $4500-5 grand kiwi i think. (i am still waiting to hear how he got on putting it over the pits though etc).

as far as I know if the vehicle did not come out with that style of body or engine it can be done, see skyline, surf, turbo 300zx, early evo's, some of those turbo pulsar thing etc and have seen the evo pajeros as well, I dont think it would be hugely difficult, I was talking a few years ago to mike from ns 4wd

btw NSW regoed evo paj on my stand at 4wd show a couple of years ago

While in Holland last month saw a SWB GU and GQ both HIGH roof versions!! like the old LWB GQ's. Never seena high roof SWB or GU before.
The GU had 4.2td badges but couldn't be bothered looking under it to see if it actually was one

I reckon the high roof models are the ugliest thing i've ever seen, swb would be worse.
