You certainly do need a press some press plates and a lot of patience. The bearing consists of 2 inner tapperd races and one outer that has 2 tapperd sections in it .Its a pain to put together as you will need a tube to go the lenght of the axle then onto the bearing inner race to press it on to the spiggot

Backyard method.....
1:
remove the axle,
2:
grab the oxy and cut the old bearing off,
3:
use a piece of pipe about 4' long ( slightly larger than the inner bearing diameter) to drive the new bearing back on.
4:
replace the axle !
Mech shops way...
1:
remove the axle,
2:
grab the oxy and cut the old bearing off,
3:
try presing it off with a 20 ton press and then relise that they needed a 60 ton press then they use a piece of pipe about 4' long ( slightly larger than the inner bearing diameter) to drive the new bearing back on.
4:
replace the axle !
5:
write out a huge bill for something you could have done at home for less than $1.00's worth of oxy and a bit of pipe

Firstly you dont need a 60 ton press and cutting the inner race off with the oxy is not the work shop way . Yoy do need a press , 10 ton will do the job and just heat the inner race and press . it will take a bit , but its not that hard ! Secondly price your bearing before getting to excited. Therdly the backing nut has to be tightened to about 465 footpound.
