I may have missed something but why do you need to use 75 series steering arms when doing a 60s into 40s pwr steer conversion?

The 70 series chassis is the same width as the 40 series. The 60 series is wider hence the arms are too long.

will the 75s TRE fit into the stock 40s steering arms if so I can just use a 75s tie rod? and of course change the pitman arm from 60 to 75 if the tre are different
Cheers

i dont think so. thats why you need to change the swival arms too. its not thats hard to do and there is a noticable difference in the thickness of the arms too.. so another bit gets upgraded. I think the taper is different for the TRE's between 40's and 75's (I had an 84 model 40 and even then I don't think they taper for the TRE's were the same as the 75)

Yep, except the hilux drivers side arm is a big funky thing, but you can cut the back of it off, and still use it.
