Benefit of late GQ S/damper over early style?

I'm buying a new draglink and steering damper. the old link has a stuffed end and the damper is factory fitted from 1989. (looks like it)

I can get a new damper and link to suit the old style GQ eye to eye mount that bolt from the chassis to the draglink.
OR
for an extra $10 i can go to the later style pin to pin damper that bolts to the draglink and panhard bar.

what would you do and WHY?

Shane, it's not that i don't trust your gudgement, I just want to be sure of what i'm buying.

actually GUs do it just as bad as GQs they just handle it better somehow, one of those mysteries like why they wobbe in the first place.

GQ/GU have the same front end geometry so i say GQ as a standard.

GU's have a better steering box and drag link angle... that is the only real difference

Draglink to panhard.

The closer you can get the draglink, panhard and dampner sharing the same angle, the better everything works.

was hopping for a more indepth, perhaps even a slightly technical answer.

I believe it also helps with bumpsteer as both the pandard and draglink move with the suspension...

where as on the old style system when you hit a bump the steering stab is pushing against the chassis...
