Do I have to go dual batteries in my GV?

Based on the other discussion about using a single battery I thought I would ask here for your thoughts...
I would like to be able to run for Waeco CF40 for a couple of nights but I have some issues with running dual batteries.
At the moment I dont have enough room for 2 in the engine bay, I have an air compressor on the left and a cruise control module on the right, infront of the factory battery.
So can I get a single, high Ah battery to do the job?
Less cost, weight and no need for a dual battery controller/solenoid.
But...if a bigger single battery will work, should I look for a bigger alternator too?
For emergencies I was thinking of taking a small "thumper" battery thingo to start the car.
