Hey All..

Im getting my 1hz motor reconed. im getting 1hd-t insides put into it and the 1hdt head on it and injectors. also im getting my 1hz gearbox recon is it worth getting a 1hd-t gearbox for it or can i just recon my 1hz gearbox and use that. Other Question is i was thinking instead of putting a stock turbo on putting a after market safai turbo on it worth it?? and What Sort of boost levels i could run.

Thanks Wade

I saw a 12v 1hdt up here that a bloke called Andrew put a garret ball bearing turbo with AXT kit running 16 psi. He also used parts out of a Yanmar marine diesel fuel pump. On the dyno It put out 198.7BHP at the wheels. He used a dyna clutch or something I think. I no it takes some grunt to put the pedal down any way. Apparently yanmar make a marine motor that's nearly identical as 1hdt except it puts out 400 FHP. Must be somthing to do with the cooling.
He seems to build a lot of good Toyota motors up here and is well known. He rebuilt my 12ht last year. Garret ball bearing turbos are fairly cheap. I was going to put the same one on my 12ht but there's to much time on the mill to be spent. I think the turbo was $1400. Ray Hall turbos In Cairns knows more about that 198hp set up then me so ring him if you want info
