Went up the beach on the weekend and while i was up there car started dying when at about mid throttle position. The sound it makes sounds like there is no fuel getting through, (sounds like someone blowing air through a straw) and when i accelerate through it and keep revs up it doesnt do it.

If anyone knows what im talking about please ad your comments without getting off track and telling me i should ditch the webber and get fuel injection.
Thanks.

most likely needs a rebuilt kit put through it... at the very least the gaskets are likely shot and blocking things up.

I've been quoted around $400 for someone to put a rebuild kit through mine!

Get a kit and put through it.The kit cost around $120 and is easy to do,and blow out the jets with compressed air.See if that helps ;)

I might try blowing out the jets first as ive only had the webber on since about september(brand new) last year, and lucky to have done 10000km.

Do you have to take anything out to blow the jets (sorry not carby educated)

Yes mate they just unscrew.Make sure you blow out all the air holes too.

problem has gone away now, running better than ever (touch wood) i put a bottle of caltex brand fuel system cleaner in with a tank of fuel, drove it to work for a couple of days, which all up was about 220 km of higway driving and not being shy on the revs and it seemed to have fixed itself up. Hopefully stays good.

thanx for your input anyway

you should run another fuel filter between the pump and carby. keeps any crap out of the carby. also what aircleaner are you using as this can effect how the weber performs. best is a ramflow that allows air to enter the top of carby.

I will be puting another filter in asap and as for the air filter, do u mean from the top (not sides) or do u mean air filter that sits on top of webber. hope that makes any sense
