there is no one thing better than another, do shit loads of searching, decide what you want to do, where you want to end up THEN you can work out what to do first.

for example if you want 31 inch tyres eventually you obviously won't be able to buy them first you will have to do body lift suspension or whatever first. Have a look at the members rig sections and up the top of the page there is heaps of stuff on here.

I'd lock the front diff first and drive accordingly. Will get you further and no on-road compromise.

the first thing you should do with it is just drive it!!!!!! take it out to harvey or bring it up to the powerlines in perth and just drive the thing!!!!!! then see wat is limiting and buy things accordingly cause no offence to anyone but you dont want to get all this advise and then go out and buy the stuff uve been told you need only to find it now handles like a sack of sh*t and you really didnt need half the stuff everyone was talking about!!!!

other than that locking a diff would be good but remember to change you driving style :P

cheers fellas. well after driving it 2night i think firstly needs more power! lol needs rear locker 1st i'd say can do bl at work and good 2nd hand muddys should do the trick then. with 2 growing 4x4's on an apprentice wage needs 2 be on a budget 2! :P how much could i pick up a locker 4 in the back? and rockhopper gears? a job i could do myself?

enough with the sms-speak already, youre sitting at a keyboard.

It doesn't need more power, it needs gears.

A locker will make the gearing feel worse.

Bigger tyres will make the gearing worse.

It's really an all or nothing deal unfortunately. You can get a locker first, and put in a BL whenever you like, but the tyres and gears will need to happen together.

Deal with power once the gearing is sorted. You won't need as much as you think.
