4"/5" lift for long Patrol GU/GR

Hey guys,

I want to lift a long Patrol GU/GR to 4" or 5" using coils (without a body lift). I know it's a lot, but that's what the truck owner wants.

This is the truck:

At the moment the truck has ToughDog HD coils which give it 2" lift + 2" spacers. The shocks are Koni. This configuration isn't giving good results - the truck is stiff and bumpy, and hardly has upper travel.

I want to find coils which will lift the truck by 4" and will suit the load the truck carries up in the front (Warn 9500 winch and a heavy bumper). At the same time, I want these coils to be soft and comfortable.

I know these seem to be contradictory requests but I'm hoping you'll have a solution.

In any case, if we find 4" or 5" coils, we'll switch over to Fox shocks so the truck will be more user friendly anyways.

Thanks a lot,

Erez

I'm in Israel, but can order things from other countries. Australia is a good place for me to get stuff since the Israeli distributor for MaxiDrive is a friend of mine and I can have my order attached to his shipments.

Hey Erez,

4-5 Inch lift? hell, i'll just get 6 inch and throw in 35" or 37" MTRs... the more lift u have, the more closer to 4WD god u reach... these kits are quite common in Oz it's easy to get registered for street use... i'll also fit 5-Link front end to give it more flex offroad.

Just out of curiousity... what size tyres u planning to run? what kind of terrain u usually do while ur offroading? how high of lift is legal in Israel? and what size tyres that are legal 35"?

I'd do all these mods rite now, but, i have coupla of problems like Insurance and no money!!!! (better get a job!)

these suspension kits could be found thru Mannell Motors their web is www.mannellmotors.com.au so u can email him and find the further details.

Regards

McJeff

Are there any other diffrences than the steeringwheel being possibly on the other side in the GR to our GU?
