lux spring question

im looking at doing a 2inch leaf spring lift to my lux, some one mentioned that i should get my springs reset to the required lift instead of buying new ones. is this a good idea?? will resetting the springs make them weaker?? will they flex any better than they do now?? im assuming they are original springs from factory(1986) and still have a decent amount of flex.
i have no problem buying new springs. but im just wondering about this.
thanks

i have reset springs in my 4runner i find the back springs are alot stiffer after reseting and the front ones fine i get alot of flex out of the front. the other thing to think about is that reset springs will sag back. after i put mine in i got about 20mm sag in the first couple of days when the spring found the spot they wanted to sit and since then (1 year ago) they havent dropped any more so im not shore how long they take to sag back

i went to tjm and they charged me $280 for 2'' a pair and there fairly soft i took a spring out and they flex well but u also will probably need a dropped drag link cus the original fouls on the u-bolt when u flex it n i also went a tailshaft spacer on the front cus the spline falls out lol.

I have just put a set of Dobinson's in and they are fine, doing extended shackels soon to help as well.
Looked at resetting the springs and decided that would be better getting new. but to lose the car for a week by the time it took to take them out reset and put back in, got the springs, greasable shackels extended shackels, extended brake lines shocks and steering dampener for $1,660.
