Can someone explain that for me? Cause I'm confused?

Do you push a clutch pedal and then knock the auto style shifter up/down gears?

Its probably setup like a heavy vehicle auto with clutch to start off. It means you dont have to run a 600" TC to deal with the engine torque, but they bang into the next gear without declutching.

Similar to the old Wilson gearbox??

We used to have one of these in an old Daimler Consort 1952 model.

If the gearbox was full electronically controlled this could be interlinked to the clutch pedal for rapid gear changes allowing both hand to be free for manouvering after preselecting the gear.

Addit: would have to ask...where does the fluid pressure to operate the hydraulics come from if the clutch is disengaged :? :? :?

Interesting idea.....
