Are the axles codes stamped on the axles?

I'm pretty sure they are stamped on the id plate in the engine bay

Yep there is a trans/axle code on the plate, then you need to convert that info to establish your ratios.

Yep thanks I know about the VIN plate in the engine bay.

What I am asking is were any codes ever stamped onto the axles?
