Depends on Thickness of Rope.

www.Rockstomper.com has some length conversion tables.

cool some good info there.

For aussie conditions does anyone have any experience with plasma or similar ropes???

Do I absolutely have to use a hawse instead of the rollers on it at the moment?

What size rope would be recomended for a 3tonne truck?

You don't absolutely have to - just like you can use wire without the rollers and just drag it accross the bull bar opening (note - neither of these would be advisable but are possible).

The hawse will definately prolong the life of your rope. I think the risk is that it will get caught up in the edges at the ends of the rollers and get damaged.

I just imported a Spidertrax hawse (same as the rockstomper one) for $50 US plus shipping.

edit: added some stuff

I have used rollers and I wouldn't recommend it - especially if the rollers have already been used with steel cable. Better approach with a hawse too...
