Landcruiser full float/ semi floating diff interchangeable?

Just wondering if the centres can swap either or both ways?
You can use a Semi Float in a full float but i dont think you can use a full float in a semi as i dont think there is the provision in the centre to fit the C clip to hold the axle in.
