Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Ive read about solid pinion spacers and understand the theory behind them. I work as a truck mechanic an have rebuilt more diffs than i can remember and was wondering if any other options are available to strengthen diffs. From what Ive been reading is when most diffs fail its from the pinion moving away from the crownwheel reducing tooth contact and ultimately reducing strength. The solid spacer is supposed to prevent this from happening. What i was thinking was to copy an idea off truck diffs. In the housing on truck diffs is a threaded hole that you screw a pin into that is on the back side of the crownwheel directly opposite the pinion. this pin you screw in until it hits the crownwheel then back off half a turn. this stops the crownwheel from flexing away from the pinion (the crownwheel rubs on it when it flexes). Is this an option that you could see working? hope this makes sence will try to draw a picture to make it more clear what im trying to explain.

Yep what your reffering to is diff pegging the poms have been doin it for ages to try and strengthen the pizz weak rover cheese diffs seems to work a treat too lookie here
