Can anyone tell me which year model or trim(eg exceed gls) had the rear
factory diff lock?
Was it any option?
Looking for one in nl model (pumped guards).
Ive had a look through the data base and cant find this info.

without making any references,
a diff lock from any model pajero, with either 3.5 V6 or 2.8 td engine should fit. Although ratio's r differenet between petrol and diesel.
AFAIK, the diff lock was not standard on any model in australia, so an Exceed model wont mean it has a diff lock.
The best model to look for would be the NK GLS with the tri pack option, which included ABS, Sunroof & diff lock.
FYI i think the rear doesn't have an lsd, its open with diff lock(something to do with abs)
i'm not 100% sure on my info, but someone else should be able to help.
Have u got a front locker already, because I would recommend spending money on the front first.

Thats correct. No diff lock that i'm aware of can be lockable as well as having friction plates. So it's either open or locked.

Yes the factory diff lock is a combo lsd as well.
It has less clutch packs than the standard lsd though (4-6 vs 8-10 IIRC).
I've seen one totally disassembled.

Well, the NH 3.ol with TriPac had the rear locker as standard.
Then came the first Exceed, it was the NJ 3.5l ,cost $70k!. Rear diff lock as standard,it could also be optioned on the lower models.
Mitsu dropped the Exceed to Oz for the next model NK, but you could still option the locker.
Then the Exceed was reintroduced with the NL model but no locker & no way to option it.
My locker is from an NJ Exceed.
But all this will soon be fixed when ARB introduce the locker for the 3.5 & 2.8 TDI. Been on the drawing board for a while now too.
