Can be done no worries,
Put a high pinion factory locker into the ass end of mine.
You will need a front housing and gearset, with a rear pinion flange and hemisphere to match splines.
This will be driving on the coast side of the teeth so can be a little noisy but have seen some big hp put through them with little trouble.
The rear hemisphere is a bit wider than a front, so shop around for end bearings as you can get some with a thinner cross section that will allow your adjuster nuts to thread in further.
I think arb can sell billet adjuster nuts from the locker kit that would be better again
Make sure you change the oil level bung.
Have fun

I had it done in my shorty, works well and stops any vibration with big lift( I had 4" lift with coil spacers) The only problem is being a front diff in the rear the gears are running in reverse and you must constantly check that the pinion does not come loose. Or use a full bottle of locktite.

i did play around with an old set of front and rears that i had a while ago, I never drove with them but i found that the internals would swap with no problems, you put all of the rear internals in the front housing, therefore no reverse teeth issues no t/shaft issues and it all adjusted up to spec fine.

i am doing this tommorow kinda. i have gq front and rear housings, both centers as well. I also have 2 mq rear 4.6's one locked one lsd. i plan on runing the mq gears and locker in front and mq gears and gq lsd in the rear.
the h/p def bolts in the rear. now just gotta check lsd bolts into crown wheel.
the mq rear will def fit in the front with a little work.
will take plenty of pics while doing this tommorow and add some here.

cheers mate. yeah i spoke to lance at suzisport. he didn't recommend that i should because the high pinion will be runing in reverse. This is ok usually when it's in the front at low speed. but wat about at 100ks plus.

Hey g6oish, are you saying you are going to put rear MQ crown wheel and pinions in a GQ front diff housing? Will the gq cv's fit or will you change the side gears in the center?

so the axles slide straight in to the mq rear. so i just have to enlarge yhe housing bolt holes and use entire mq rear 3rd member. i am having probs fitting rear gq lsd into mq ring though. will have to rout holes on lsd to fit then mq 3rd member in there to.

they can not handle very hard 4bin eg rock climbing rear bounce shock loading because of the running in reverse thing mate blew about 4
