You can buy twin burner units with external gas bottle from almost any camping/adventure store. A lot of people use them if the $20 single burner unit isnt enough.

Check out their website, it has the prices.

http://www.drifta.com.au/

I have just a normal Drifta Swing Out fitted to my camper. It was already fitted to the camper, but i don't think the price is to unreasonable for what it is.

The only thing i don't like about mine, is purely the fact that i have a gas burner with grill, so it's to high to permanantly mount in the kitchen. I could go back to a regular gas burner, but i like my grill. I would cut it down, but if i went to that extent, i'd make a new one and fit an oven into it also.

IMO thats too expensive for what it is. For that price Id want it made from aluminium or something which is easier to clean. Ply would stain pretty easily.

I saw an awsome set up on a crusier ute a few weeks back.

no pics sorry but he had it set up so that under his tray between the cab and wheel acch it looked like a tool box, but when unlocked it slid out to the side and had a stove set up ready to go on top, with gas bottle below, the sides and back around the stove folded up to protect from wind. beside the gas bottle was a few cups, coffee etc.

Then in the middle at the front under his tray was a small water tank with a tap beside where the sotve came out.

The idea was you could stop anywhere and have a cuppa without unloading the truck at all, turn one key and you were ready to cook or boil some water.

Just looking at the Drifta stuff and the pricing.. I reckon it looks quite good for the $$ Most of the kitchens are sub $1k when you consider design, materials and time etc .. I would say it is money well spent.

im using a kovea stove and trangia pots

http://www.trangia.se/english/5614.27_series_ul.html

does the job for me, weighs bugger all so not noticed in ya pack, and it boils a litre of water faster than ya conventional LPG stoves :D

takes up less space than the BBQ in the back of the truck also :D

Hell yeah they're pricey, but they're awesome to deal with and provide an awesome warranty. I've bought a lot of 4wd and camping gear over the years and this is one of the best investments i've made for family camping. So much so if i had the money i'd think about buying the 'carback' model for when i don't have the trailor ;) LOL

I got a heap of custom stuff built into mine, extra drawers, built to suit my stove, swings out the side i want it to, extra coating on the marine ply + my choice of laminated surface + it freestands away from the trailor etc. Mines the largest in the range and it came in at about $1050 delivered and worth every penny. It holds all the food, cooking gear, tools, EVERYTHING! Had it for 2 years now, no probs at all, DOESN'T STAIN or mark easy, and we would not go camping without it. I get annoyed when i go on boys trips and don't take the trailor cause i can't take the drifta! And when you've got a wife and kids something like this transforms a campsite into a much more enjoyable experience. I mean, look at this - done the cooking and washing up for the night and everythings put back in it's place. In a coupla minutes i could have that all folded away and back in the trailor ready to hit the road :D

Plus, the possums can't get to the food ;)

A lot of kitchens that you waste space that could otherwise be used for storage, or dont make that space easy to use. The drifta is the exception here with a place for everything that you need when cooking.

Also have a look at the Coleman & Oztrail aluminium kitchens, we used to have one before we got the drifta and it was pretty good once setup. Something like these: http://www.oztrail.com.au/furniture/kitchens/

cheers
