Is anyone using this winch rope that can help me out. It seems in competition, after my first winch, when spooling out the cable it always gets caught in itself on the drum. Slows things up heaps. Thinking of going back to plasma. If you have any thoughts on this let me know. Is anyone else out there using this rope in comps? Jay

trick I found with any synthetic rope is not to wind it on like steel cable in neat rows, as this lends itself to cut into the other layers making it harder to pull out. Spool it on in a controlled even crosshatch style where you drag the rope across the drum when spooling it in a bit more than when lining up row after row like wire rope. It won't cut into itself then.

Then at least the first few winches you won't have as much of a problem and the inner layers won't mean that winches later on in the stage can easily be pulled out from only the top 1 or two layers.

Yeah, I am running full drum freespool. I'll try the crisscross method and see if that helps. I re - spool after every winch and, like I said, the first winch is fine. If I have a second winch on the same stage that is when I run into problems with the rope getting caught up. Thanks for your help guys. Still not sure if I want to stick with the rope. I know it is strong enough, just not easy to use. Jay

Is the rope fouling against the bar and causing jams that way? it`s just that I have my winch spaced back a good 2`` and it helps with the stiffness of the rope.Billy
